MV GUBERT TIDE CELEBRATES ITS SEAFARERS 27 SEPTEMBER 2023
27 September 2023 goes down the annals of history for all seafarers on the MV Gubert Tide off the coast of Gabon. Three of its seafarers, Second Mate Sama Ignatius Kehbuma, Bosun Essingila Molindo Daniel, and Oiler Marcel Peghouokouo P. all had a birthday to celebrate. After a hard day’s work, Capt Arnejo Bernie Monera assembled the entire crew at the wheelhouse, to share a happy birthday cake baked by none other than Chef Vero Zumafor.
According to Bosun Daniel, ‘life offshore is tedious, not being at home, we are all a family and team. But the Chef does so well for us and on this special occasion was simply awesome, I thank God for this day. Oiler Marcel thanked God for another grace in his life. The camaraderie that reigns on Gubert Tide from Master downwards, the Chef’s ingenuity expressed in the anniversary cake he urged should spread to all other vessels manned by NGA Marine.
Chef Vero, putting up the event on board the ship, is aimed at fostering friendliness and team spirit that makes for a happy and safe ship. To her, it is an art and a pleasure to see others happy. Only in this way, she says ‘can our vessel be safe, secure and productive’.
